Emily and Drew - Owston Hall

A Love Story Fit for a Regency Romance

For fans of Bridgerton, there’s a new gown that promises to capture your heart—Emily's stunning dress. It’s not just a garment; it’s a symbol of love and tradition that set the stage for an unforgettable day.

The ceremony unfolded at the picturesque St Mary’s Church in Tickhill, where the air was thick with anticipation. In a beautiful moment of intimacy, Emily and Drew held hands and prayed together, each waiting in separate rooms, their hearts united despite the distance. This heartfelt ritual added a truly special touch to their wedding day.

The service itself was a traditional Eucharistic ceremony, where communion was shared among their closest family and friends, enveloping everyone in a warm embrace of love and spirituality. Emily’s mother, along with her mother’s friend Claire, her aunt Julie, and Drew’s friend Adam—the vicar from St Paul’s in Wheatley Park, Doncaster—delivered heartfelt prayers and readings that resonated deeply with all in attendance.

Adding a personal touch, their friends Mel & Mary crafted a beautiful wooden board displaying the poignant verse from Ecclesiastes 4:9-12, a testament to the strength of their union. Meanwhile, Emily's mum took on the delightful task of making confetti, which ended up scattered joyfully throughout the day, symbolizing the celebration of their love.

Emily's dress was sourced from Jess at Abbey Bridal, featuring the Bridgerton Collection by Allure Bridals. Her veil was crafted by Richard Designs Bridal. Jodie Leigh Hide did Emily's makeup, while her hair was styled by Emma Lee Hair Design. The tiara and jewelry were provided by Lace & Favour. Her shoes were from Rainbow Club. The bridesmaids, her sister Isobel and cousin Natalie, wore dresses from Six Stories. Drew and the men's suits were from House of Cavani and Moss Bros

In my floral arrangement, I chose a stunning array of blooms that come together to create a breathtaking display. Picture this: the elegant Faith roses with their delicate petals, the vibrant and playful bombastic spray roses, and the timeless beauty of white O'hara roses. To add a touch of whimsy, I included gypsophilia, often known as baby's breath, which brings a soft, ethereal quality to the bouquet.

But that's not all! The enchanting ranunculus adds layers of texture, while the feathery charm of astilbe introduces a delightful contrast. To complete this floral symphony, I incorporated lisianthus, known for its exquisite blooms, and the fragrant touch of eucalyptus, which not only enhances the visual appeal but also fills the air with a refreshing aroma.

This carefully curated selection of flowers promises to captivate and inspire, making any occasion truly unforgettable!

Owston Hall did a fantastic job for the reception. To start with they had drinks and canapés. After family and group photos Emily and Drew went out to have photos out at the front on the bridge and grounds.

They named each table after some of their favorite John Hughes films: Pretty In Pink, Sixteen Candles, Uncle Buck, Weird Science, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Hearts & Twine handled all the stationery, including invitations, and did an amazing job. They also collaborated with them to create a wedding newspaper, which was very well received by our guests. For favours, they provided elegant cream boxes containing a couple of Lindt chocolates for each guest. At the end of the meal, they both lit two small candles together onto a larger candle.

Later, they shared their first dance to "Biblical" by Callum Scott, followed by a performance by Irish dancers from The McLeod Academy Of Irish Dancing. They cut the cake and everyone gathered outside with sparklers. Emily and the ladies returned inside to enjoy some dancing and food, while Drew and the men stepped out for cigars and whiskey. At the end of the night, Drew and Emily had a private dance together with just them and the DJ.

The cake they received from Lorien at Storeybook Cakes was stunning, and it was a delightful surprise for them to see it for the first time as they entered our wedding breakfast.

The photographs were taken by Aden Priest, and the video was created by Jonny at A&A Videography. Viewing them brought happiness to both.
